Protect and help the thermal insulation of your walls.
When masonry gets wet it loses its insulation properties, much in the same way that wet clothes make you feel cold. By creating a deep water-repellent zone on the masonry surface, energy efficient wall coating ensures that the masonry remains dry throughout the year – maximising its thermal resistance or “R” value. Our energy efficient coating has been verified by The Energy Saving Trust.
Not all insulation is what it seems
Expert Service
If you have water in your wall, it is no longer an insulator but a thermal conductor, actively carrying heat out of your home through the walls. This is quite apart from the damage and mould that is building up on the inside of your house. To prevent further damage and energy loss, you urgently need to identify where the water is getting in and stop it.
The cause of the water is probably rainwater penetrating the outer skin. Unless a wall is waterproofed, the weather will be penetrating the bricks and causing water to flow down the inside of the wall.
Energy Efficient Wall Coating
Always Prepared
In order to prove the concept of improving the thermal resistance of walls using energy efficient wall coating a preliminary test was carried out at the University of Portsmouth comparing the thermal resistance (R-value) of a wet brick with that of a coated brick. This test demonstrated that the thermal resistance of the energy efficient coated brick was more than twice that of the wet brick. In order to estimate the thermal benefits of treating walls with in the real world further testing and modelling was carried out:
Further testing carried out by the University of Portsmouth involved the comparative testing of a treated and untreated model house placed in an environmental chamber. During the experiment, the energy required to maintain a stable 20ºC temperature within the model test house was measured. Energy savings of between 5 and 9% were demonstrated in a single brick width wall from the result of changing outside temperature and humidity alone, indicating that energy savings are possible even during periods of no rainfall. A 50% energy saving was demonstrated during a single wet “rain” event. Sure Guard Protection Ltd stress that it is impossible to calculate the energy saving of any particular house and so therefore do not do so.
See the difference for yourself
Before and after
Watch as water was poured firstly on to an untreated part of a wall and then on to a treated part.
Preparation
Power Blasting
The surface to be treated is power blasted to get rid of any algae mould etc. This also exposes any repairs that may be needed.
Sterilisation and Repair
Creation of a sound working surface
Any faults such as loose pointing, loose render or cracks that are exposed by the power blasting are then repaired. When repairs are complete the surface is sterilised with a biocide to stop any further organism growth.
Application of energy efficient coating
Stopping water ingress and preserving wall appearance
Improving the thermal resistance of the wall by keeping it dry, as verified by the Energy Saving Trust.
Rising Damp
Cause and remedy
Cause
The cause of rising damp in homes is the lack of or breakdown of an adequate damp proof course. If left unchecked, rising damp can cause damage to brick, concrete and wood structures, and cause wet rot and the dreaded dry rot. (Source: Guardian 29/02/2008)
Taken from World Health Organisation guidelines on dampness and mould. 'Microbial pollution is a key element of indoor air pollution. It is caused by hundreds of species of bacteria and fungi, in particular filamentous fungi (mould), growing indoors when sufficient moisture is available. This document provides a comprehensive review of the scientific evidence on health problems associated with building moisture and biological agents. The review concludes that the most important effects are increased prevalences of respiratory symptoms, allergies and asthma as well as perturbation of the immunological system.'
Injection cream
We first create a series of horizontal drill holes along the mortar course. Typically these holes are 12 mm in diameter and drilled at 120 mm intervals. Then we insert a nozzle into the first drilled hole, and then inject the DPC cream while withdrawing the nozzle at a steady rate. We stop injecting just before removing the nozzle from the wall. Repeat for remaining holes. Once the DPC cream is installed, it diffuses before curing to form a water-repellent resin. This prevents the damp from rising up the wall.
Method of Injection
Elastomeric Wall Coating
Waterproof But Breathable
The Stormguard elastomeric wall coating is 100% waterproof stopping damaging water ingress but is also microporus allowing the wall to breath. Walls that are sealed can cause huge condensation problems. Where would water go thats trapped in a wall? Correct it can only manifest on the inside of the house. It also has a list of other benefits too.
Service
The walls of your home expand and contract with temperature change so with conventional wall coverings problems with cracking can soon appear. This allows dampness to get in and behind your wall covering causing peeling. Whilst water is trapped between your wall covering and your wall your bricks absorb the water making your walls less energy efficient and left unchecked will eventually cause damaging damp on the inside of your home.
The Stormguard wall coating is guaranteed not crack peel or flake due to its elastomeric properties, it will expand up to 400%. available in a number of popular colours. Because of the Stormguard Coating formula of pigments and fillers all colours are GUARANTEED not to fade. So instead of repainting your walls every few years just wash the walls down to see them come up like new.
Application Process
Our team of craftsmen will first of all power blast your wall to expose any flaws. Time is taken to carefully repair any faults which become apparent including building the wall surface back up to its original depth with polymers so there are no "patches". When all repairs are fully completed a sterilising coat is applied to kill any organisms that could grow underneath the coating. Then the top colour coat is applied.

Roof Spray Foam
Save Up To 45% On Your Energy Bills
Air moves in and out of a home through every hole, crack, and crevice. Roughly 33% of air infiltrates through walls, ceiling, and floors. Adding an advanced insulation system is necessary to achieve optimal building performance. Sureguard Protection has that advanced insulation system.

SAVES MONEY AND ENERGY
Installing spray foam insulation will help save you and your household money every year. The spray foam will seal air within the property and help prevent heat loss; this will make it cheaper to warm your home in the winter and help you save money every year. If you wish to sell your home in the future, buyers will find buying your property with a more attractive option. The savings begin immediately upon installation.
Protects
Lapolla’s AirTight spray foam insulation has many protective benefits for the home. It restricts air movement, which stops moisture accumulation so that the possibility of mould growth is less likely to occur. A huge benefit of spray foam insulation is that it helps deter pests from entering your home. Once the spray foam has solidified, pests of all kinds will find it difficult to enter your home through the now sealed areas.

Comfort
As our spray foam insulation is installed, you will find that your home is more comfortable than ever before. Not only will your home be warmer in Winter it will be cooler in Summer. Drafts will be a thing of the past as they will be eliminated in your home. The seal created by the spray foam installation will help reduce cold and hot spots within the home as gaps are closed. This contributes to an even temperature within your property. If your home is near a noisy area, you will not have to suffer anymore as the spray foam seal will help reduce the effect of noise.
